One of our favorite makers/mentors Margo Tantau, is a renaissance woman and creative change agent.
She is equal part artist, creative sage, connector & community builder.
She lives on Vashon Island, in the Pacific Northwest and from her quiet corner has built a thriving creative consulting & coaching business and an ever growing online creative community through her Windowsill Chats podcast, artist workshops and Facebook groups.
With over 30 years in the creative world, Margo has hands-on experience building home goods products from ideation to the finished piece, from her own products to collaborations with other designers, from directing creative teams to overseeing the manufacturing process for corporate brands, she’s seen and done it all. Those wide and wonderful experiences have connected her to many talented creatives from around the globe and are the backbone of her ever-growing online creative community.
Early on, Margo understood the power and lift of the online and social media world. An early participant in AltSummit she met eager (curious) creatives like herself who were hungry to connect, to problem solve and to share.
In 2020 she started a podcast called Windowsill Chats, which features candid conversations with creatives from around the world and their inspiring stories. Her goal is to build an accessible 24/7 online creative community and in so doing help each other start or grow a creatively centered business, realize creative dreams and live a life of intentionality and joy. The brilliance of her podcast is that it covers a wide variety of creative topics, from monetizing creative talents to crafting creative retreats and exploring the world of current trends in color and design. Even if you don’t need to know current design trends you’ll be inspired by her guests stories. She and her guests are real, generous and supportive. Margo invites her creatively curious and often hungry audience to ask themselves what the poet Mary Oliver put to paper “tell me, what do you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” If you haven’t a clue or are just curious - tune in. We all can benefit from getting just a bit closer to living the life we imagined.
Margo’s open hearted, joyful and refreshing authenticity embodies the best of Sisterhood. We raise a glass to Margo and to her many talents and latest creative adventures.
