Stephanie Mayer’s must-have sides and eye-catching platings.
Thanksgiving at Stephanie Mayer’s table is a feast for the senses, blending vibrant colors, bold flavors, and classic family favorites with a twist. For Stephanie, the holiday isn’t just about the food—it’s about creating a plate that’s as visually stunning as it is delicious. With thoughtful attention to detail, she ensures that each dish not only tastes amazing but adds a splash of color to the table.
"Thanksgiving at our table means a mix of vibrant colors and must-have family sides. Our spread includes Silver Palate Sweet Potato and Carrot Purée, Herbed Bread Stuffing with pine nuts and currants, and French green beans with lemon zest and toasted hazelnuts. Braised red cabbage adds a pop of purple, a family tradition, and cranberry orange relish brightens the plate. To surprise everyone this year, I’m making wilted spinach with saffron yogurt and golden raisins, plus a shaved fennel, apple, and pomegranate salad—light and refreshing!
As for leftovers, I recommend a cranberry relish and ricotta tartine or a cozy turkey sandwich warmed in gravy, layered with mashed potato pancakes and arugula."
The Art of Leftovers
The Thanksgiving feast doesn’t end when the plates are cleared. Leftovers are an opportunity to create entirely new experiences with the same beloved ingredients. Cranberry Relish and Ricotta Tartine: a simple yet elegant snack that layers creamy ricotta and tart cranberry relish on a slice of toasted dark bread.
Another standout is Day-After Turkey Sandwich, a cozy creation featuring turkey slices warmed in gravy, mashed potato pancakes, and a handful of peppery arugula, all nestled between slices of sourdough bread.
These leftovers aren’t just reheated—they’re reimagined.
