Girl & Dragon: Play with Fire!

It’s summertime, people. Time to play with fire!

Girl & Dragon: Play with Fire!

Inspiration: Girl & Dragon Malbec. She’s a wine with a fiery personality to say the least. Sourced from Mendoza, Argentina (a region that would take the Iron Throne in the battle for Malbec-eros), we are loving this wine for just about anything you can cook over a fire. We know many of you are experts in the ancient art of fire-cookin’ but as a refresher course, here are some of our favorite go-to tips, techniques and recipes for playing with fire. Do not forget the Gild & Dragon! She’s your muse, after all.

Grilling with Girl & Dragon Malbec

To start, here’s a great primer from one of our favorite chefs, Tyler Florence. If you’re up to the challenge, share your play with fire creations on his new app, Yumavore. Instant foodie cred will be yours!

Kebabs are the fire-friendly food with pretty much infinite possibilities. To get you started, we present 50 fabulous kebabs from Food Network. Tip: thread your veg on the skewer with your protein. Sometimes we keep them on separate skewers since plant and animal items tend to cook at different rates. Yeah, fussy like that.

Beef and Chicken Kebabs

What, no gazillion-dollar imported Italian wood-fired pizza oven in your backyard? No worries. Here’s how to make pizza on the grill.

Mexican Street Corn Recipe

In wine country, a grill-feast isn’t complete without elotes—Mexican street corn. Of course, you can’t really mess with just-picked, peak-of-the-season corn perfection but then again, why not?

We don’t believe there’s such a thing as leftover corn (or leftover wine), but on the remote chance, here’s one of the best ideas for Mexican corn salad we’ve seen.

Dessert: S'mores

We love Martha. In her world, there’s always room for dessert.
