Best Actress and Wine Nominees – 2016

Best Actress and Wine Pairings - Oscars 2016

The 88th Annual Academy Awards Ceremony is just over one week away and SURPRISE, we’ve got wine on our mind. This year’s Best Actress nominations are incredible, as are the characters they played in this year’s featured films. In their honor, and because we have tons of fun each year putting them together, we’re sharing our favorite wine pairings with Hollywood’s leading ladies.

But first, a quick message from Middle Sister Wines

And the pairings are…

Cate Blanchett and Drama Queen - Oscars 2016

Cate Blanchett and Middle Sister Drama Queen Pinot Grigio

Movie: Carol

Between the vintage couture she dons in “Carol” and the dramatic love story that unfolds in the movie, we think Middle Sister Drama Queen Pinot Grigio would make a lovely pairing with this nomination.

Brie Larson and Middle Sister Rebel Red - Oscars 2016

Brie Larson and Middle Sister Rebel Red Blend

Movie: Room

Bravery and the courage to keep laughing in the face of hardships (many in this movie) are qualities that Brie Larson’s character embodies in “Room.” Keep a smile on your face and pair this nominee with Middle Sister Rebel Red Blend

Jennifer Lawrence and Middle Sister Sweet & Sassy Moscato - Oscars 2016

Movie: Joy

To get through life and also get what you want, you’ve got to be both sweet and a bit sassy. Jennifer Lawrence’s character in “Joy” has to do exactly that which is why this nomination pairs perfectly with Middle Sister Sweet & Sassy Moscato.

Charlotte Rampling and Monogamy Red - Oscars 2016

Charlotte Rampling and Monogamy Red

Movie: 45 Year

In “45 Years,” Charlotte Rampling plays a wife whose marriage is rocked by unexpected news on the eve of their 45th wedding anniversary celebration. This pairing needs little explanation, we nominate Monogamy Red

Saoirse Ronan and promisQous Red - Oscars 2016

Saoirse Ronan and promisQous Red

Movie: Brooklyn

Saorse Ronan’s character left her home on a life-changing adventure and begins planting her roots in New York City in the movie “Brooklyn.” In honor of our city girls behind the scenes of the promisQous Instagram account, we nominate promisQous Red for this fabulous pairing.
