Emily Wines, a tribute, supporting art programs in schools
Emily Elizabeth Genzoli was a brilliant young artist and graphic designer who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 25. Endlessly optimistic in the face of adversity, her positive spirit inspired all who knew her as she accepted and dealt with her diagnosis. The Emily Fund was created as a tribute to her.
After her passing at age 33, her friends in the wine business wanted to find a way to remember her, and her love of children and art. We created Emily Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay and designated a portion of the profits to benefit a cause dear to her heart—that of art in schools.
Emily passionately believed that art in schools was not merely something extra and expendable, but an essential path to learning in general. Art teaches children about themselves and the world around them.
In this time of tight education budgets, teachers have been known to reach in their pockets to buy supplies—including art supplies—for their classrooms. The Emily Fund wants to support these dedicated teachers by underwriting those expenses.
If you are an elementary or middle school teacher who needs to provide art supplies for a specific curriculum or just to have on hand in the classroom, please contact the Emily Fund at Info@EmilyWines.com with a brief note, desired supplies and budget required to purchase. We will consider all applications and fulfill as many requests as possible.
Thank you for allowing us to tell Emily’s story and thank you for supporting the wine named in her honor. Emily wines are available to purchase online through our Wine Sisterhood Wine Shop here. The wines are also available at local wine retailers, click the “Find Our Wines” link at the top of the Emily Wines website and search by your state.
