Here are our recommendations when visiting the town of St. Helena:
Wydown Hotel – Small, boutique on Main Street.
Meadowood – Spendy but spectacular Napa Valley resort.
Harvest Inn – Romance package available.
Eating & Drinking
Farmstead – Great food with a southern accent. Go on Tuesday for Fried Chicken Night.
Cook – Homestyle Italian. Where the winemakers go to eat.
Gott’s Roadside – “Tray Gourmet” Diner. Burgers, shakes, beer, wine. (also a location at Oxbow Market in Napa).
Dean and DeLuca – Extensive wine, cheese & culinary departments; coffee bar, organic fruits & veggies & gourmet picnic fare to go.
Press. – Big Steaks and Big Red Wines. Next to Dean & DeLuca.
Raymond Vineyards – The two-acre Theater of Nature is the largest educational exhibit on Biodynamic farming in the Napa Valley.
Orin Swift Wine Cellar – Urban tasting room.
Hall Vineyards – Art meets wine.
Chappellet Winery – Hidden treasure high on Pritchard Hill.
Charles Krug – Oldest winery in Napa Valley & a national historic landmark.
